Role Description:
As an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Assistant at Starki, you will play a crucial role in our design process. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our team through regular online team sessions and participate in in-person meetings in Swansea. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can quickly absorb project information and carry out architectural design work accurately, adhering to current local and national policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with architects, technologists, engineers, and other professionals to prepare architectural plans, elevations, and details.
- Assist in developing architectural designs that align with project requirements and objectives.
- Ensure that designs meet regulatory standards and comply with local and national building codes.
- Utilise software tools such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Recap, and
- Revit to create and modify architectural drawings and visualisations.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration within the team to ensure project success.
- Contribute to the creation of presentations, reports, and design documentation.
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of architectural design principles and the ability to translate them into practical solutions.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion, and Photoshop.
- Knowledge and experience with Recap and Revit software.
- Familiarity with Autodesk’s AEC Collection would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within project constraints.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Means of travel between home, meetings, and site visits via your own form of transport.
- A relevant Certificate, Diploma, Degree or equivalent qualification
- At least one year of demonstrable professional experience

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex architectural projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to junior architects and project teams.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to develop and refine project briefs, designs, and specifications.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and integrate them into project designs and strategies.
- Actively seek out and develop new client relationships and business opportunities to expand the practice’s project portfolio and drive growth.
Requirements:
- Professional qualification as an Architectural Technologist.
- At least 5 years of post-professional qualification with relevant experience.
- Possession of FRIBA, ARIBA, FCIAT or MCIAT, or ability to work towards Chartered Status.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building regulations.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in architectural software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite.
