Iestyn Bentley – Architectural Assistant

Iestyn is an Architectural Assistant at Starki’s Swansea Studio, providing professional design assistance to the architectural design team.

Iestyn joined the University of Wales Trinity Saint David with ambitions of an architectural career, completing his BSc Architecture and graduating in the summer of 2023. Iestyn joined Starki in 2024, with a plan to build on his portfolio before pursuing his Master of Architecture (MArch).

Iestyn has a passion for sustainable design and believes that architecture is not just about creating buildings but also about shaping environments that evoke emotion, create atmosphere, and promote sustainable living. During his studies Iestyn wrote his dissertation on how Architect’s have responded to climate change, he believes that architectural design needs to be part of the climate change solution, not be an obstacle to it. His time spent living and studying architecture in Wales has instilled him with a profound appreciation for the country’s rich architectural heritage and the significance of cultural context in design.

Outside of the studio, Iestyn enjoys cycling through the Welsh mountainside, photography and playing the guitar.
